| "Arthur Andersen LLP will lay off about 7,000 employees, or just over a quarter of its workforce of 26,000, as the company continues struggling to survive its role in the Enron Corp. scandal." A firm conducting an audit has a 'sacred responsibility' as it were to be completely and totally 'above board' in all respects. The State of New Hampshire has already told Arthur Andersen that their services were 'no longer required' and that is being repeated all across the entire spectrum of clients for them. This company is toast. As it should be. Now it's Enron's turn. The CEO of Enron ought to be in prison. As should the person from Arthur Andersen that actually 'did the nasty' to the documents and anybody else that knew about it. No excuses for this type of behavior. |
